About Me

My name is Loes and I am a life adventurer with a soft spot for wine and wine & food pairing. Currently, I am travelling the world to explore the aromas and taste of wine. I am doing this by getting insight in the process of winemaking, by meeting its makers and by experiencing different wine regions of the world.

 

My background is in health care. Specifically, I work as a public health doctor and am specialized in infectious disease control and epidemiology. Sounds like an incompatible combination with wine? Yet, I have learnt that they are closer together than they seem.

My medical background helps me to better understand the winemaking world. On my website I regularly post new short stories about my experiences. I write about the production of wine from a health care perspective, the experience of smell & taste and the human body, health aspects of wine, and of course about all the beautiful places I visit, wines and dishes I taste and people I meet along the way. The photo's are made by me, unless stated otherwise. Links to the stories will also be posted on the socials.
